I designed, modeled and textured this steampunk-themed turbine which is the biggest model I've created so far - it's over 100 meters in width and height. I added the little lighthouse buoy to help aircraft navigate to it and around it. The turbine structure has 3 landing/launching pads for aircraft to use. These models were created using 3DS MAX, ZBrush, Painter and Photoshop with no textures larger than 2k by 2k. I used layered materials with masks to texture some of the largest parts of the model. The goal was to have sufficient and uniform texel density - at least 512 pixels per meter - on every part of the model.
